No One's Girl
May give myself to others but there is still so much I hide,
Keeping them safely locked on the other side.
Refusing to be anyone’s possession,
Living a lonely mission.
To be no one’s girl.

So often as a child I was told by my parents to be seen and not heard. Now I'm speaking out in poetry.
